WINNERS VISUAL SENSATIONS ‘06/’07 ANNOUNCED!

On last Saturday the 27^th of January, the final of Visual Sensations ‘06/’07 took place In a busy Paradiso, Amsterdam. Six VJ-Teams were competing in this exciting evening for the first prize and the People’s Choice Award. The winners are:

First Prize:

NEEF (Region: Northern-Netherlands) NEEF does not work with one single laptop like most VJ’s do, but along with his computer he uses old-fashioned video mixers, screens and cables. Also his equipment is on a cart, so he can walk through the audience. This makes his performance very special. For more Information about NEEF: www.vjneef.nl
With his performance NEEF won a gig at Club Transmediale in Berlin on February 3^rd 2007 and EUR 2500,-

Peoples Choice Award:

EyeScream (Region: Belgium): This VJ-team won the latest SONY High Definition Camera. They got a persuasive part of the public’s votes. EyeScream has been VJ-ing for two years. These Audiovisual Arts students at Sint Lucas in Brussels use images from daily life in a humoristic and varied way. They are inspired by human behavior. The jury of Visual Sensations ‘06/’07 consisted of: Mieke Gerritzen (Head of Design department of Sandberg Institute), Arjon Dunnewind (director of the Impakt Festival), Boris Debackere (audiovisual artist), Rutger Wolfson (Director De Vleeshal) and Roel Wouters a.k.a Xelor (designer / artist)
